We are sad to announce that on December 6, 2024, at the age of 76, David Lee Betterton of Chatham, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As David departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved David. Though David may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roberta Evans Betterton and James Fredrick Betterton; and his daughter Lori Nicole Betterton. He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Suggs Betterton; his son David Betterton, Jr.; his siblings, Bonnita Whitlow (Donnie), Dr. Carl Everett Betterton (Sarah) and James Michael Betterton; and his grandson Zachary Thomas Lovelace Betterton.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Hollywood Baptist Church (6405 Callands Rd, Chatham, VA 24531). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
