It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Coy Hortense Updike Moore of Chatham, Virginia, who passed away on June 10, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Joshua Updike and Flossie Edwards Waller; her brother James Douglas Updike; her half-siblings, Clifton, Lonnie Updike and Veda Linkswilder; and her close friend Margaret Hodnett.

She is survived by: her husband Wayne Moore; her children, Terri Moore Boswell of Chatham and Allen Moore (Monica) of Garner, NC; her grandchildren, Kasey Giles (Sam) of Chatham, William (Mindy), Harry Boswell of Chatham, Ava, Claire and Caleb Moore of Garner, NC; her great grandchildren, Lacey Mulero of Chatham, Levi Boswell of Chatham and Weston Giles of Chatham; her sister-in-law Nancy Hunley of Chatham; and her pet Boston Terrier "Eli". She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
