She was predeceased by : her parents, Millard David Dowdy and Carolyn Crowder Dowdy. She is survived by : her husband Alton E. Dewberry Jr. of Chatham, VA; her daughters, Hannah M. Moser (Matthew Moser) of Dry Fork, VA and Katelyn Dewberry of Orange, CA; her brother Bryan Dowdy (Rhonda Dowdy) of Danville, VA; her nephews, William and Noah Dowdy of Murrells Inlet, SC; her aunt Omie Hartness (John Hartness) of Dunn, NC; her cousins, JoAnthony Hartness of Dunn, NC, John Hartness (JD) of Danville, VA and Machelle Mitchell Myers (Sam Myers); and also Lauren Myers of Altavista, VA. She is also survived by aunts, cousins, and close friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Norris Funeral Services & Crematory - Chatham Chapel (147 S Main St, Chatham, VA 24531). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
