He was predeceased by: his parents, Bonnie Barber East and Dewey Frank East, Sr.; his wife Carole Owen East; his brothers, Clarence Albert East, Dewey Frank East, Jr. and Donnie East; and his granddaughter Elizabeth.
He is survived by: his sons, Dewey East (Sara) of Chatham, Hughie East (Jennifer) of Roanoke and Mike East of Goose Creek; his stepdaughters, Carolyn Jones of Ringgold and Sandra Dillion of Sutherlin, Virginia; his siblings, Curtis East of Maryland, Jake East of Maryland and Janet East of Maryland; his grandchildren, Wesley, Dewey Lee, Jr., Mason, Emma, Timothy, Austin, Kaleigh and Kelly; his stepgrandchildren, Carol, Cynthia and Kristal; and his pet Porkchop. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
