She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Howard Adkins and Janie Tucker White; and her husband Oscar Shelton. She is survived by: her children, Howard Junior 'Buddy' Shelton (Lana), Leonard Wayne Shelton (Diane), Ronnie Shelton (Debbie), Betty Hedrick (Carlton) and Janice Gregory; and her sister Shelby Jean Adkins. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
