He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Bennett (Bill) and Ollie Coleman Bennett; and his brothers, John Bennett, Alfonsa Bennett, Robert Bennett, Edward Bennett and Ira Bennett.
He is survived by: his wife Jo Ann Bennett; his daughters, Karen Bennett of Chatham, VA and Charlotte Timmons (Terry) of Lynchburg, VA; his brother Ralph Bennett of Chatham, VA; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Terry of Danville, VA, Katheryn Bennett of Chatham, VA, Sally Herndon of Chatham, VA, Exella Bennett of Killeen, TX and Otis Pannell (Theresa). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
