He is survived by: his wife Bernice "Candy" Swartzel; his children, Rebecca Velez (David Wilson), Ronald Spelman (Vickie), Renee Waters (Jerry) and Roberta Thomas; and his siblings, Joel Swartzel, Russell Swartzel, Sandy Nissen and Marybell Blakely.
