He was predeceased by: his father Joseph III; and his son Keith Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Mildred Strother Thomas of Chase City, VA; his son Karl Thomas (Caroline) of New Jersey; his stepchildren, Ernie Strother (Audrey) of Smyrna, DE and Diane Rainey of Linden, NJ; and his brothers, Lawrence Thomas of Cranford, NJ and Kenneth Thomas of Bloomington, IN. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law.
