He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Robinson and Mary Robinson; and his sister Anna. He is survived by: his wife Anna L. Smith; his son Howie; his nieces and nephews, Furman Robinson, Jr. (Elaine), Donald Robinson, Delores Bowling, Carolyn Martin, Theresa Thornton and Harvey Robinson; and his goddaughters, Chris Harris-Lipford (Paul), Greta Harris, Kimberly Harris Singh (Kewal) and Terrie Harris.
