He is survived by: his children, Shavonda Elam, Wayne Rawlings (Pamela) of Oxford, NC, Daniel Rawlings (Wendy) of Meherrinn, VA, Larry Elam (Lisa), David Elam, Sr. (Angie) of Chase City, VA and Michael Elam, Sr. (Brittany) of Clover, VA; his siblings, Herman Elam of Red Oak, VA, Virginia Elam of Clarksville, VA, Phyllis Elam of Boydton, VA, Delphine Watkins of Chase City, VA and Louise Thompson of Drakes Branch, VA; and his sister-in-law Nancy Rawlings. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
