He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Andrew Dell Burns and Helen Louise Wallace Burns; his wife Annette Burns; his son Brian Burns (Trina); his brother Carl Burns (Lori); and his grandsons, Austin Burns, Bryson Burns and Caleb Burns.

Visitation was held on Sunday, March 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Wood Funeral Service (28868 VA-49, Chase City, VA 23924). A funeral service was held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Salem Christian Church.
