It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fielder Carter Liggon Sr. (Chase City, Virginia), who passed away on October 18, 2019, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gus, Sr. Liggon and Amy Gugertha Carter Liggon; his wife Virginia Oliver Liggon; his son David Liggon; and his siblings, Ida Pulliam and Alfred Liggon.
He is survived by: his children, Teresa Somerville (Rudy) of Halifax, VA, Fielder Liggon, Jr. of South Hill, VA, Lawrence Liggon (Brenda) of Chase City, VA and Rex Liggon (Mari) of Clarksville, VA; his siblings, Viola Terry of Boydton, VA, Bessie Boyd of Chase City, VA, Gus Liggon, Jr. of Richmond, VA, Garland Liggon, Sr. of Chase City, VA, Mallom Liggon, Sr. (Marva) of Grayson, GA and William Liggon (Kathy) of Victoria, VA; his daughters-in-law, Ila Leak and Brenda Davis; and his sisters-in-law, Hattie Liggon and Joan Liggon. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
