He was predeceased by: his parents, Jackson B. Armistead and Maude R. Armistead; and his brother Irving Armistead. He is survived by: his wife Edna; his children, Robin Wawner (Mark), Patricia Berce (Robert) and Willie Armistead; his grandchildren, Mickey Berce (Lindsey), Mandy Berce (Brad), Meredith Berce, Wade Wawner (Savannah) and Matt Wawner; his great grandchildren, Kennedy, Teddy, Cameron and Sonny; his sister Joy Thacker; and his brother-in-law Charles Kidd (Lindsay).
