Willcox left this world on June 18, 2024 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Willcox Ruffin and Margaret Wakefield Ruffin; his wife Anne Rixey Ruffin; his son Willcox Kirkland Ruffin; and his siblings, Margaret Ruffin Falkiner and James Van Allen Bickford.
He is survived by: his sons, John Wakefield Ruffin (Regina P. Ruffin) and James Rixey Ruffin (Anna Rea Ruffin); his daughter-in-law Rebecca Pardo Ruffin; his grandchildren, Leigh Ruffin Adams (Paul Brewer Adams), Willcox Kirkland Ruffin, Jr. (Carolyn St), Margaret Elizabeth Ruffin, Molly Kirkland Ruffin and Katherine Anne Ruffin; his great grandchildren, Riley Anne Adams, Daniel Ruffin Adams and Adeline Gallant Ruffin; and his close friend Susan Winters McKenry of Virginia Beach.
