She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Bert Russell Sr. and Ruth Hunter Russell. She is survived by: her daughters, Janet Dooley, Nancy Russell Skaryak and Karen Shifflett (Clayton); her brothers, Dr. John H. Russell (Connie), Paul B. Russell Jr. and Munro C. Russell; her grandchildren, Dr. Guy Dooley IV, Emma Dooley Johnson, Jead Shifflett, Charlotte Shifflett and Hunter Skaryak; and her great grandchildren, Guy Dooley V and Oli Johnson.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Sandy's memory to the Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA 3355 Berkmar Dr., Charlottesville, VA 22901, Make a Wish Foundation, and/or Hospice of the Shenandoah.
