We are sad to announce that on November 22, 2023, at the age of 97, Ruby Grant of Charlottesville, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Simeon Anderson and Esther Hamilton; her brothers, William, Samuel and David; her husband Vincent Grant; and her son Alphonso Cockett.
She is survived by: her daughter Claudette Grant (Juandiego); her stepson Vincent Grant, Jr.; her niece Kathleen Anderson; her grandchildren, Christine Steve (Mitchell), Charlene Cockett, Monique Anderson (Ben), Maria Antoinette Diaz, Christopher Grant, Amarie Cockett and Gabriella Wade; her great grandchild Dillon Steve; and her brother George (Willie). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Olivet Presbyterian Church 2575 Garth Road, Charlottesville, VA 22901, or Child Health Partnership 1469 Greenbrier Pl, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
