He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Bowne Minturn and Mary Yorke Minturn Haskins (McCawley) of Hamilton, Massachusetts.. He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Freeman of Charlottesville; his children, Molly Minturn and Jake Minturn (Brennan Trick); his grandchildren, Beatrix Wolfe (Bebe) of Charlottesville, Nina Szwabowski of Charlottesville, Hammond Minturn (Ham) of Charlottesville and Margaret Minturn (Maggie) of Charlottesville; and his siblings, Robert Minturn (Dana Berg) of Boston, Massachusetts and Mary Wood of South Hamilton, Massachusetts. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Uva Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to the Charlottesville/Albemarle Rescue Squad, the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA, or Preservation Piedmont, with attention to the Woolen Mills Chapel.
