He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Shetler Shank and Kathryn Showalter Shank; and his sister Nancy Shank Bender. He is survived by: his wife Linda Frey Shank; his children, Sam (Sara Moore Shank) of San Mateo, CA and Sara Suzanne Shank of Boston, MA; his grandchildren, Spencer and Thomas Shank of San Mateo, CA; and his siblings, Randall (Janet Shank) and Emily Shank.
