She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas William Watkins and Anna Windhaus Watkins; and her siblings, George Thomas Watkins and Nancy Rice. She is survived by: her husband C. Ray Smith; her children, Tony Smith (Elizabeth) of Afton, Cheryl Smith of Goochland and Teri Smith of Charlottesville; her grandchildren, Hunter Smith (Danielle) of Charlottesville, Tyler Greeley (Andrew) of Charlottesville, Katie Hardman of Goochland, Josh Hardman of Goochland and Joe Hardman of Goochland; and her great grandchildren, Ava Smith of Charlottesville, Lincoln Smith of Charlottesville, Isla Greeley of Charlottesville and Bennett Greeley of Charlottesville.
She attended the home basketball games every year since the 1960s until Covid prevented her from doing so.
