He is survived by: his children, Janae Gentry and John Gentry, III; his significant other Patsy Bolden; and his siblings, Larry Gentry, Margaret Gentry, Shirley Gentry, Sara Gentry and Helen Lewis. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
