With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joan Mary Dewson (Charlottesville, Virginia), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Joan Mary left this world on September 22, 2024 at the age of 84, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Though Joan Mary may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joan Mary touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgar S. Nugent, Jr. and Mary Simonka Nugent; and her husband Richard L. Dewson. She is survived by: her daughters, Deborah Yost, Tamarah Cheek (Doug Cheek), Laura Purvis (Lawrence "Buddy" Purvis) and Donna Deitsch (David Deitsch); and also, Carol Carey and Robert Dewson.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 9th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the City Church (1010 Rio Rd E, Charlottesville, VA 22901).
