It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard Winston Acker in Charlottesville, Virginia, born in Alfred, Maine, who passed away on October 13, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Palmer Acker and Mary Greim Acker; and his siblings, Marjorie Lawrence, Harriett Randall and Albert Acker.
He is survived by: his wife Marcia Elaine King; his son Michael Acker (Barbara); his grandson Shawn Brassard (Heather); his great grandchildren, Dezarae and Sienna; his grandchildren, Ian (Lisa Acker), Haley Acker (Ben McCrave) and Nerissa Rouzer (Garett); his great grandchildren, Ethan, Owen and Alexandra Rouzer; his granddaughter Miesha Vargas (Cesar); his great grandchildren, Lourdes, Emmanuel, Miriam, Rosario and Bruno Vargas; his children, Mark, Ricky and Pamela; and his close friend Danny Smart.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. George's Church (3 Emerson St, Sanford, ME 04073). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A reception will be held on Saturday, November 23rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the St. George's Church, Parish Hall (3 Emerson St, Sanford, ME 04073).
