He was predeceased by: his parents, James Monroe and Mary-Johnson Monroe; his nephew Kerry McCloud; and his grandparents, George, Mary Monroe, Benny and Annie Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Ingrid Erica Monroe; his children, Henry P. Monroe Jr. (Monica) of Esmont, Michael Robinson of Charlottesville and Crystal Y. Smith (Lorenzo) of Fluvanna County; his stepchildren, Tanisha Fransis of Louisa, Jhennell Fransis of Fluvanna and Tajai Dyte of Jamaica; and his siblings, James E Monroe Jr. (Thelma) of Fluvanna, Floyd L. Monroe and Francenia Eldridge of Scottsville. He is also survived by five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
