It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles Edward Durrer Sr. (Charlottesville, Virginia), who passed away on October 15, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm N. Durrer and Elise Runkle Durrer; his wife Laura Bickers Durrer; his half-brother Malcolm "June" Durrer; and his sisters, Ethel Eppard, Nan Koontz, Betty Thomas and Frances Roberts.
He is survived by: his siblings, Robert "Bobby" Durrer (Joan), James "Bucky" Durrer and Mildred "Patsy" Taylor; his children, Charles Edward Durrer, Jr. (Cathy) and Brenda Durrer Buttner (Clifton); his grandchildren, Angela Wolford (Jeff), Travis Durrer, Kimberly Buttner, Jason and Hunter Durrer (Kelsey); and his great grandchildren, Adrian Wolford, Timothy Wolford, Amber Eubanks and Riley Eubanks. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Charlottesville Albemarle Rescue Squad to offer thanks for those who cared for him in the final day of his life.
