He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his sister Louise Bowers (William); his children, Jackie Atkins (Mary Lee), John Atkins (Donna), Vickie Tangerman and Connie Barksdale (Bruce); his grandchildren, Ryan Atkins, Brandon Tangerman, Stephen Tangerman, Katherine Dawson, Carrie League, Kelsie, Crenshaw, Morgan Bennett and Kevin Atkins; and his great grandchildren, Grayson Tangerman, Scarlett Dawson, Isaiah League and Bennett Tangerman.
