She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmett Pugh, Sr. and Lucy Reed Pugh; her grandson Joseph "Jay" McCargo; and her siblings, Roosevelt, Anthony, Clyde Wilbert, Julius Sr., Emmett Jr., Irene McBride and Ruth Baynes.

She is survived by: her children, Carol McCargo (Joe), Robert (David Pugh), Sandra Goldman (Austin) of Greensboro, NC and Bernadine Whitehead (Angela Davis) of Keysville, VA; her grandchildren, Brittni, Robert Jr. Pugh (Mary) of Meherrin, VA, Jasmine Goldman of Charlotte, NC, Daryel Jr. Whitehead (Tiyanna) of Virginia Beach, VA, Brandon Pugh (Jasmine) of Chesterfield, VA, Courtney McCargo of Richmond, VA, Dante Pugh, Davon, Tehya Pugh, Leah Whitehead of Plano, TX and Makayla Davis of Amelia, VA; her great grandchildren, Devin McCargo, Ava, Dean Robinson, Christian, Jordan Pugh, Caleb and Noah Whitehead; her sisters, Avon Dean (Dennis) of Bronx, NY and Lucy (Richard) of Bronx, NY; and her sisters-in-law, Hattie Pugh of Appomattox, VA and Cora Lee Pugh. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
