He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Smith and Daisy Wilkes Smith; and his brothers, William, Henry and Leon.
He is survived by: his wife Constance Spencer Smith; his siblings, Reginald James Smith, Christine Smith, Gracie Reed (James) and Dianne Smith; his friend Carlton Vaughan; his stepchildren, Ashley Spencer, Andrew Spencer and Alexander Spencer; and his siblings-in-law, Tanya Spencer (Willie), Corliss Scott Debbie Spencer (Ray), Thelma Spencer and Carroll Spencer. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
