He was predeceased by: his parents, Van Adkins and Geraldine Adkins; his grandfather Lee; and his children, Gaynelle Adkins and Greg Adkins.
He is survived by: his uncle Gus; his wife Janet; his children, Loren (Lisa) and Casey (Butch); his daughter-in-law Val; his grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Grace, Noah and Carter; his great grandchildren, Katrina and Raylan; and his siblings, Merle, Thelma, Pearl, Gwen, Linda, Rose, Edith, Hilda and Audrey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation or the Chickahominy Tribe.
