He was predeceased by: his parents, Van Adkins and Geraldine Adkins; his grandfather Lee; and his children, Gaynelle Adkins and Greg Adkins.
He is survived by: his uncle Gus; his wife Janet; his children, Loren (Lisa) and Casey (Butch); his daughter-in-law Val; his grandchildren, Ryan, Matthew, Grace, Noah and Carter; his great grandchildren, Katrina and Raylan; and his siblings, Merle, Thelma, Pearl, Gwen, Linda, Rose, Edith, Hilda and Audrey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Samaria Baptist Church (8130 Lott Cary Rd, Providence Forge, VA 23140). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Chickahominy Tribal Center (2895 Mt Pleasant Rd Bldg. C, Providence Forge, VA 23140).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation or the Chickahominy Tribe.
