Though Martha may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Martha touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Irby and Llewellyn Irby. She is survived by: her children, David Kitchin (Nancy), Llewellyn Kitchin (Donna), Margaret Hamer (David) and Claiborne Kitchin (Edith). She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Paul's Memorial Church at the University of Virginia.
