She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Rev. P. S., Katherine Woody, Spiller and Audry Griffin; her father Don E. Griffin, Sr.; her stepfather William Carmichael; and her parents-in-law, R. C. and Peggy Hammons.

She is survived by: her husband Neal Hammons; her mother Clara N. Carmichael; her siblings, Yvonne O'Linger, Carmen Gore, Don Griffin (Eddy) and Jason W. Griffin; her sons, Bobby Scharer (Amanda), Brandon Scharer (Andrea) and Cole Hammons; and her grandchildren, Asher Scharer, Elijah Scharer, Benjamin Scharer, Faelynn Scharer, Liam Scharer, Layla Scharer and Lucas Hammons. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
