We are sad to announce that on September 28, 2021, Betty Louise Shupe Hensley of Ceres, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband George W. Shupe; her daughter Etta Lee Welsh; her grandson Alfred Lawrence "AJ" Ellison, Jr.; her parents, James "Frank" and Virginia Hoback; her siblings, Jerry Lee Hoback and Mary Ann Sawyers; her son-in-law Ricky Mercer; and her sister-in-law Jeanie Hoback.
She is survived by: her children, Pamela Shupe Mercer of Ceres, Mary Louise Hamm of Atkins and George "Feller" Shupe, Jr. (Sonya) of Washington; her son-in-law Robbie Welsh of Atkins; her siblings, Becky Sue Nuckolls (Junior) of Mount Airy, N. C., Doug Hoback (Betty Ann) of Roanoke, Larry Dean Hoback (Rose) of Myrtle Beach, S. C. and Billy Joe Hoback of Wytheville; her brother-in-law Gary Sawyers of Pulaski; her grandchildren, Matthew Shupe, Shelly Ellison, Sherry Ellison, Elizabeth Hardy, Crystal Cassell, William Strouth, Jr., Robert Strouth, Jacob Strouth, Laura Daniels, Kaitlyn Marshall and Makaela Mullins; and her great grandchild Lee Hardy. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren; many special friends.
