With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Stafford L. Compton of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, who passed away on December 5, 2020 at the age of 93. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Stafford L. Compton to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charley A. Compton and Sadie Boyd Compton of Richlands, Virginia.; his wife Elizabeth Lawson Compton; his son Stafford Gregory Compton; and his siblings, Stuart Compton, James Compton, Robert Compton and Helen Compton Higgins.
He is survived by: his daughter Kathy Compton Newsome (Gary) of Naples; his daughter-in-law Aleta Compton of Gray, Tennessee.; and his grandchildren, Sydney Newsome Richardson, Brandon Edwards, Kelli Newsome Mehalic, Sarah Newsome Gross, Greta Compton Street, Stafford Newsome, Garrett Newsome, Samantha Newsome and Reed Newsome.
The family recognizes the risks of the COVID pandemic and requests that safety measures be taken.
