He was predeceased by: his father William "Bill" Steele, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Kim Steele; his children, Morgan Brooke Cunningham (J. Barrett Cunningham III) of Jonesborough, TN and Logan Chandler Steele; his grandson Easton James Steele of Cedar Bluff, VA.; his stepchildren, Sydney Altizer, Caleb Altizer and Kendra Broussard; his mother Mary Ruth Steele; and his siblings, LaRhonda Lindsey (York Lindsey) and Todd Steele.
One of Shane's desires for his children was the opportunity to obtain a college education; therefore, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to his son Logan's educational fund: New Peoples Bank, C/O Logan Steele Educational Fund, PO Box 495, Pounding Mill, VA 24637.
