She was predeceased by: her parents, John Melvin and Lillie Turner Barnett; her husband Glenward G. Hess; her daughter Edna Hess; and her siblings, Mildred Maxine Addison, Myrtle Binns, Harry and Ralph Barnett.
She is survived by: her children, Star Hess, Debbie Atkins and David Barnett; her siblings, Virginia Droll, Jean Deskins and Doug Barnett; her close friend Olbert Rose; and her grandchildren, Nate Barnett, Angel Leonard and Zach Barnett.
As a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Commonwealth of Virginia Mandate, facial coverings and social distancing are required at all times.
