He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlus Hess and Mary Elizabeth Hunnell Hess. He is survived by: his girlfriend Charlotte Vencille; his children, Sherry Lynn Cook (Don) of Texas, Michelle Walters (Charlie) of Arizona, Carlos Hess of Abingdon Virginia and Chas Vencille (Maggie) of Franklin, Virginia.; and his siblings, Peggy Kelly (John) of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, Robert Hess of Tazewell and Everett Hess of Poquoson. He is also survived by Six grandchildren, one grandchild on the way, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
