It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jimmie Hampton of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, born in Bluefield, West Virginia, who passed away on January 12, 2021, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Nelson and Dorothy Hoops Hampton Nelson; his former wife Phyllis Lorraine Hampton; and his siblings, Nancy Mullins, Beulah Belcher, Lavania Rose, Ruth Nelson, William Hampton, Alfred Hampton, Charles Charlie Hampton, Jr. and Rufus Raymond Hampton.
He is survived by: his close friend Beulah Minton; his daughter Ann Hampton Poe (Dayton) of Wichita, Kansas; his sisters, Mary Baker of Rocky Gap, Virginia Joann Moore of Bluefield and Barbara Belcher (Jerry) of Bluefield; his grandchildren, Isaiah Poe of Wichita, Kansas., Isaac Poe of Wichita, Kansas. and Ryann Poe of Wichita, Kansas.; his stepfather Alton Nelson of Bluefield; and his pet Willow A. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
In keeping with COVID mandates and per the wishes of the family, social distancing and face masks will be required.
