He was predeceased by: his parents, George Lawry Cox and Gussie Jones Cox; his wife Gwendolyn Davis Cox; his daughter Mary Lynn Shrader; and his siblings, Clyde, Jimmy Cox, Claire, Eva, Katherine, Pauline and Louise.
He is survived by: his daughter Connie Cox Foster of Forest, VA; his sisters, Nancy Mounts, Ruby Slate (Dean), Mary Vencill, Stella Vencill and Sylvia Fields of Troy, VA; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Shrader, Christopher Foster and Caitlin Foster.
