He was predeceased by: his parents, James Karl Johnston and Dorothy Ellen Roper Johnston; his daughter Lorie Johnston; and his grandson Hunter Johnston. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Johnston of Cedar Bluff; his daughter Leeann Garcia of Texas; his grandsons, Desmond Garcia and Travis Johnston; and his brother Jim Johnston of Michigan.
