It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Stanford Elam of Castlewood, Virginia, who passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Hampton Elam and Lucy Belle Elam (Salyers); his granddaughter Justina Jill Helbert; his brother Vernon Elam; and his half-siblings, Ollie Mae Galliher, Ernest, George L., Charlie, Willie and Bruce Elam.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Elam (Osborne); his daughters, Kathleen Helbert (Justin) of Castlewood and Linda Hackney (David) of Mt. Carmel; and his grandsons, Jason Helbert of Bristol, Tenn. and Jessee Bevins of Lebanon.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Grassy Creek Cemetery South.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Grassy Creek Cemetery Fund in care of Martha Steele, 946 Lower Copper Creek Road, Castlewood, Virginia 24224.
