She was predeceased by: her parents, James Curtis and May Eleanor Smith (Musser); her sister Shrebia Smith; and her close friend Mary Russell. She is survived by: her husband Carlos Mitchell; her children, Josette McCoy (Tim) of Nora, Joni McCoy (Jamie) of St. Paul, Virginia and James Mitchell (Leticia) of Coeburn, Virginia; and her siblings, Jeanene Blair of Maryland, James Smith of Maryland, Curtis Smith of St. Paul, Robert Smith of Georgia and Dennis Smith of Florida. She is also survived by many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
