He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Axsom and Ada Dooley Axsom; his wife Barbara Robere Axsom; and his siblings, Russell Norman Axsom and Carolyn Axsom Shute.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Axsom and Farrah Axsom of Dante, Virginia; his grandchildren, Zack and Chase Axsom of Cleveland, Virginia; his sisters, Betty Axsom Begley of Kingsport and Barbara Axsom Farris (Joe) of Roscoe, Illinois; and his sister-in-law Cathy Counts Maynard of Bristol, Virginia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Castlewood Funeral Home (80 Donnie Dean Dr, Castlewood, VA 24224). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia (80 Donnie Dean Dr, Castlewood, VA 24224).
