He was predeceased by: his parents, O. G. Kennedy and Thelma Bush Kennedy; his siblings, Clifford Lee Kennedy, James Edward Kennedy, Oferall Garland Kennedy, Larry Richard Kennedy, David George Kennedy, Roger Dale Kennedy, Glenn Kennedy, Linda Lou Kennedy and Ann Sue Dorton Sleebos; and his mother-in-law Mary Horne.
He is survived by: his wife Debra L. Kennedy; his stepson Bryan Kennedy (Lainee); his grandchildren, Ben, Lincoln and Mia Kennedy; and his siblings, Wally Kennedy (Debbie) and Mary Wilson (Charles). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Castlewood Funeral Home (80 Donnie Dean Dr, Castlewood, VA 24224). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 8:00 PM at the Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia (80 Donnie Dean Dr, Castlewood, VA 24224). A procession was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Castlewood Funeral Home (80 Donnie Dean Dr, Castlewood, VA 24224). A committal service was held on Tuesday, December 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Temple Hill Memorial Park (2529 Memorial Dr, Castlewood, VA 24224).
