She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry C. Hicks and Nannie M. Hicks; her husband Paul Harrison Hammonds; her children, Roger, David and Jewel; and her siblings, Virginia E. Salyer, L. Ardist Dixon, Pat Hicks and Chad Hicks.
She is survived by: her daughter Paula R. Marshall (Doug Sproles); her granddaughter Chloe N. Marshall; and her siblings, Allen Hicks (Jeanette) of Nickelsville, Jim Hicks (Bernice) of Castlewood, Virginia, Fern Burke (Buddy) of Castlewood and Darlene Austin (Shorty) of Castlewood, Virginia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, Graveside Services and Interment for Nancy Vera Hammonds will be conducted at 2:00 p. m., Sunday, January 24, 2021, at the Hicks Family Cemetery in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Bill Salyer officiating.
