It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Jane Helbert of Castlewood, Virginia, who passed away on December 22, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Solomon Poston and Carrie Sluss Poston; her husband Samuel Clifton Helbert; her daughter Wilma Kiser; her granddaughter Justina Jill Helbert; and her siblings, Lola Davidson, Faye Greear, Gaynell Greear, Bertha Mays, Nellie Carmen, Evie Surrett, Ray Poston, Robert Glen Poston and Harvey Poston.
She is survived by: her daughter Gloria Meade (Ronnie); her grandson Jonathan; her son Justin Helbert (Kathleen); her grandchildren, Jason and Lee Ouellette; her daughters, Chris and Michelle Reed (Stacy); her brothers, Bill Poston (Bobbi Jo) and Don Poston (Dorothy); and her sister-in-law Gloria Poston. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 at 9:00 AM and at 2:00 PM. Visitation was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Castlewood Funeral Home (80 Donnie Dean Dr, Castlewood, VA 24224).
