He was predeceased by: his parents, Haskell Skeen and Lottie Robinson Skeen; his granddaughter Victoria Skeen; his brothers, John Skeen and George Skeen; and his mother-in-law Lola Davidson.

He is survived by: his wife Rhonda Skeen; his children, Marsha Bak (Dale) of Sherwood, Ohio and Joseph Skeen of Castlewood, Virginia; his sisters, Dorothy Louthan of Sneedville, Wilma Gilliam of Noblesville, Edith Sluss (Curtis) of Coeburn, Jewell Haga (Don) of Blountville, Phyllis Peacock (Earl) of Holden and Eliza Williams (Randy) of Lebanon, Virginia; and his siblings-in-law, Bessie Skeen of Lebanon, Virginia and Norman Stallard (Bridgette) of Bean Station, Tennessee. He is also survived by five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
