He is survived by: his wife Rita Slemp Mullins Johnson; his children, Jessie "Jay" Johnson, III (Penny) of Castlewood, Virginia and Rebecca Woodruff (Timothy) of St. Paul, Virginia; his grandchildren, Jessie Johnson IV (Jannike) of Castlewood, Nathan Johnson (Megan) of Castlewood, Josh Castle (Rebecca) of Castlewood and Olivia Castle; and his great grandchildren, Cayden, Conner Castle, Nolan Johnson, Henry Johnson, Kaitlyn Castle and Aliaynna Woodruff. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, Funeral Services for Jess Johnson will be conducted at 2:00 p. m., Sunday, October 18, 2020, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia with Pastor Jim Pratt and Pastor Travis Price officiating.
