We are sad to announce that on November 7, 2024, James Elam of Castlewood, Virginia, born in Dante, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert David and Myrtle Johnson Elam; his sisters, Georgia Roberts and Teresa Huff; his sister-in-law Lolly Elam; and his pet Weasel.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Elam; his sons, Jeffery Elam of St. Augustine, Jason Elam of Dante and Jamie Elam (Barbie) of Pounding Mill, Virginia; his stepson Jonathan Fields (Myra) of Culpepper, Virginia; his brothers, Roger Elam (Brenda) of Appalachia, Wayne Elam of Woodstock, Greg Elam (Linda) of St. Paul, Rick Elam (Deb) of Castlewood and Mike Elam (Phyllis) of Castlewood, Virginia; his grandchildren, Jordan Elam, Porter Elam, Madison Elam and Aubrey Elam; and his stepgrandchildren, Grant Fields and Ford Fields. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Castlewood Funeral Home (80 Donnie Dean Dr, Castlewood, VA 24224). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 14th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia (80 Donnie Dean Dr, Castlewood, VA 24224).
