He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Maxfield and Maggie Hawkins Maxfield; and his siblings, Harold Robinson, Robert Garland Robinson, Joyce Greer, Betty Greer, Ruth Fields, Glenna Jones and Doris Jean Hall.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Maxfield; his sons, Stewart Maxfield of Castlewood, Virginia and J. C. Maxfield of Castlewood, Virginia; his sister Judy Porter (Harold) of Castlewood, Virginia; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Maxfield, Meadow Maxfield and Eric Maxfield (Candace); and his great grandchildren, Rainy Maxfield, Maggie Maxfield and Salem Hall. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, Funeral Services for Freland Eugene Maxfield will be conducted at 2:00 p. m., Friday, February 12, 2021, at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Jim Pratt officiating.
