She was predeceased by: her parents, Elihu Jessee and Dacy Gladys Ervin Jessee; her husband Elbert Glenn Helbert; her siblings, Elihu Jessee, Jr., Jim Jessee, Joyce Mullins (Tom), Jewel Cantrell (Wiley) and Gaynell Cantrell (John); and her brother-in-law Sonny Taylor.
She is survived by: her children, Eleanor David (Ronald) of St. Paul, Carolyn Cooper of Castlewood, Virginia and Giles Helbert (Brenda) of Nickelsville, Virginia; her siblings, Guy Jessee (Sue) of Castlewood, Virginia, Esther Taylor of Castlewood, Lois Mullins (Arnold) of Castlewood and Ellen Hurd (Wilkie) of Castlewood, Virginia; her grandchildren, Valerie Lasley (Steven), Michael Cooper (Courtney), Aaron Smith and Jared Helbert; her great grandchildren, Macee, Kaden, Jonathan, Makalia (Justin) and Indie; her great great grandchildren, Ava and Chase; her siblings-in-law, Jessie Helbert of Castlewood, Virginia, Lou Veda Jessee of Castlewood and Martha Helbert of Abingdon, Virginia; and her close friends, Patsy Sexton, Rhonda Patrick, Virginia Riggs, Judy Jones and Edith Dean. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Following the COVID-19 restrictions set forth by the Governor of Virginia on face-covering requirements and social distancing, Funeral Services for Eva Kate Jessee Helbert will be conducted at 11:00 a. m. Monday, December 28, 2020, in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel in Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Virgil Musick officiating.
