He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard Hicks and Tina Hicks; and his brother Jerry Hicks. He is survived by: his spouse Brenda Vanover Hicks; and his siblings, Danny Hicks (Terri) of St. Paul, Lois Peyton (Butch) of Roanoke, Joy Smith (Gordon) of Bristol and Kay Ikerd (Jeff) of Walnut Cove, N. C.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
